Reconnect with the Significance and Power of Your Core: The Starting Point of Body Mind Spirit Alignment.

Hello,

Have you ever felt absent-minded or overstimulated? Physically ungrounded or heavy? Emotionally numb or overwhelmed? Mentally scattered, confused, or drained? Spiritually disconnected — or just like something is “off,” even when life seems fine?... Or maybe you’ve felt the quiet desire to express yourself more fully… to experience something more — even if you’re not sure what that looks like or where to begin.

These sensations may be your inner being inviting you to pause, return to presence, and reconnect with your sacred core — to come back into alignment and listen to what’s truly going on in and around you.

At Body Mind Spirit Alignment, my work supports you in rediscovering that sacred center — your core — and aligning your body, mind, and spirit through it. This process restores a more accurate sense of identity, unlocks more of your God-given potential, and empowers you to live from the inside out, with freedom and integrity.

What is the core?

Physically, your core is the body’s structural center of gravity

It includes:

1. Muscles surrounding the trunk like a cylinder

  • Abdominal wall (front)

  • Spinal muscles (back)

  • Diaphragm (above)

  • Pelvic floor (below)

2. Deep internal trunk muscles

(While not considered “core muscles” in the strictest sense, these muscles are deeply significant in holistic work.)

  • Psoas (Attaches to each vertebra in front of the spine, from the diaphragm down to insert 2-3 inches below the pelvic floor to the inner thighs.) It acts like a spring, from which the body can emerge into upright presence. It is in recoil in the womb (as in the fetal position) and can somewhat tense into recoil when holding on to internal stress. When disengaged, it can create collapse in the body. It often stores trauma linked to survival, safety, or chronic stress and releasing this structure often helps address unresolved pain, especially low back issues tied to deep emotional holding. This allows for deeper breathing, emotional freedom, and restored vitality.

  • Iliacus (Lines the inner bowl of the pelvic and merges with the psoas to insert on the inner thighs.) It functions like a bowstring, activating the psoas (like an arrow), enabling uprightness.

Together, these structures help ground the body in strength, stability, flexibility, and balance — supporting full embodiment, alignment in symmetry and proportion, and graceful, integrated movement.

Spiritually, the core is the sacred center of your being

Across many traditions, the belly is considered the seat of the spirit — a place of intuition, wisdom, and divine connection.

This aligns deeply with biblical truth which refers to this center as the “inner man,” “inward parts,” or “innermost being”. In the original Greek, John 7:38 literally says: “Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” This image of the belly as a wellspring of God's Spirit reflects a divine design — that the human spirit resides deep within, and that from this place, we commune with God, receive guidance, and overflow with life.

This spiritual flow is expressed through seven manifestations of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 11:2) that bring about holistic alignment:

  1. The Spirit of the Lord – Divine authority and presence

  2. The Spirit of Wisdom – Spiritual insight and perspective

  3. The Spirit of Understanding – Inner clarity and discernment

  4. The Spirit of Counsel – Guidance and direction

  5. The Spirit of Might – Strength, courage, and endurance

  6. The Spirit of Knowledge – Intimacy with truth and awareness

  7. The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord – Reverence, awe, and alignment with holiness

When we lose touch with our core, tension builds, the nervous system becomes reactive, and the soul feels fragmented. But the human spirit is unbreakable — and when we reconnect with it, we return to truth, renewed strength, and healing from within.
